この展示は今もなお進行中のプロジェクト「よく知っている人のための記念碑」に対する一連の報告である。「よく知っている人のための記念碑」は最も意味のある他人に対する一人の理解を収集して記録するプロジェクトであり、他の人たちは最も意味のある他人についてどのくらい知っているかに対する単純な好奇心から始まった。（一人に対する理解を全部文字で表現できないことは当然であるが、）文字で表せるほどの確かな理解を、積まれた量と占める面積として可視化して共有する。「その人」についての記録作業は何かに対する理解の過程を模倣している。よく知っていると思う人について文字で記録し、再びそれを読んでいく過程を経て作られる微妙な歪曲は記憶と理解の不完全さは言うまでもなく、相対的な編集過程を通して得られる「理解」の露骨な顔と向き合うようにする。認識の対象と主体の間に繋がった何らかの得られる理解。「キム・チュウォンさん」の理解の中に存在する「パク・ジンスさん」は、それを読むまた他人にどのようにイメージされるか、それでは何を「パク・ジンスさん」と言えるのか、理解の軸は無数にあり、理解の面は持続的に変化して蓄積され続ける。「パク・ジンスさん」に対する「キム・チュウォンさん」の理解と最も類似しているものを1つ探す。その一つであるような顔から派生した36個の顔は「パク・ジンスさん」のようでもあり、「キム・チュウォンさん」のようでもあり、ただ理解ということの顔のようでもある。理解と間隙の問題が存在する空間で紙を持ち上げ、めくりながら読む時間と手間を通して観客は、どのような疑問を持つか、理解の輪を超えて見つけられた顔がまたどのような理解に転換するか気になる。
